My Penny Terms of Use

Last updated: October 1, 2026 · Bundle ID com.mayooran.penny

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the My Penny iOS app (“Penny,” “the app”) published by the developer of record on the App Store product page. By downloading, installing, or using Penny — or by accepting these Terms in the app — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

In-app purchases are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) and Apple’s Media Services Terms. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Apple’s terms for a purchase processed by Apple, Apple’s terms control for that purchase.

1. What Penny is

Penny is a personal budgeting and planning tool for individual use. You enter income, bills, budgets, goals, debts, and transactions. Penny calculates summaries such as Safe to Spend, budget remaining, debt payoff estimates, savings pacing, and lightweight forecasts from the numbers you provide.

Penny is not a bank, broker, lender, tax preparer, credit bureau, payment processor, or accounting firm. It does not move money, open accounts, or execute trades.

2. Eligibility and age

Penny is intended for adults managing personal finances. You must be old enough to agree to these Terms under the laws of your place of residence. The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Penny only with a parent or guardian’s permission.

3. Not financial, tax, investment, or legal advice

Penny does not provide financial, tax, investment, accounting, credit, insurance, or legal advice. Numbers, insights, estimates, and forecasts are informational only and may be incomplete or incorrect. They are not recommendations to spend, save, borrow, invest, refinance, or take any financial action.

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Consult a qualified professional for advice about your situation. Do not treat Safe to Spend, forecasts, debt payoff dates, insights, or exports as a bank balance, credit decision, or guarantee of any outcome.

4. Estimates and accuracy

In the app, figures marked with an asterisk (*) are estimates. That mark points to this section.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Penny Pro and “Lifetime” purchases

Optional Penny Pro features may be offered as a one-time lifetime In-App Purchase through Apple (a Non-Consumable). Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. Restore purchases from Settings if you reinstall on a device signed into the same Apple Account.

What “Lifetime” means: a one-time purchase that unlocks the Penny Pro feature set described in the app and on the App Store listing for My Penny at the time of purchase, and that remains available to you on App Store builds of My Penny that you install while signed into the purchasing Apple Account, for as long as the developer continues to offer and support those Pro features in the app. Lifetime does not mean:

Feature availability is described in the app and on the App Store listing. Features not listed as included are not part of Penny Pro. The developer may improve, rename, or replace Pro features with substantially similar functionality, and may add new free or paid features later. If a subscription option is introduced later, Apple’s subscription terms will apply and will be disclosed at purchase.

7. Refunds

All payments are processed by Apple. The developer does not receive your payment card details and cannot issue App Store refunds directly. To request a refund, use Apple’s process: open reportaproblem.apple.com (or Account → Purchase History → Report a Problem in Media & Purchases), select the Penny Pro purchase, and follow Apple’s instructions. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple under Apple’s policies.

If a purchase does not unlock after payment, first try Restore purchases in Settings → Penny Pro, confirm you are signed into the same Apple Account, then contact Apple or the developer support address on the App Store product page if it still fails.

8. Privacy

How data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy. Penny is designed for on-device storage without developer-operated user accounts. Apple may process purchase and related App Store data under Apple’s privacy policy.

9. Intellectual property

The app, branding, and related materials are owned by the developer or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or create derivative works of the app except as allowed by law or Apple’s rules.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Penny is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that calculations will be error-free, that estimates will match real-world outcomes, or that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of defects.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, opportunity, or financial loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) Penny — including decisions made based on Safe to Spend, forecasts, debt estimates, insights, exports, widgets, reminders, or other outputs — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded, the developer’s total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Penny Pro through the App Store in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CAD $25.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, the limits apply to the fullest extent allowed. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, fraud or certain consumer rights that cannot be waived).

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold the developer harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or financial decisions you make based on app outputs, except to the extent prohibited by law or caused by the developer’s willful misconduct.

13. Changes; suspension

We may update these Terms by posting a new version with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes to data practices will also be reflected in the Privacy Policy and App Store privacy labels where required. We may update, suspend, or discontinue the app or features when needed for security, legal, or maintenance reasons.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any non-waivable consumer rights in your place of residence, you and the developer agree that courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the app, except that either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that requires disputes to be heard in your local courts or under local mandatory law, nothing in this section takes away rights that cannot be waived by contract.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any Apple terms that apply to your purchase, are the entire agreement between you and the developer about the app. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the app.
