Quick help
- First launch: Choose “Explore with sample data” to try a populated household, or start fresh with your own numbers.
- Safe to Spend: Set monthly take-home income in Settings, add bills and spending, then check Home for what’s left.
- Currency: Settings → Currency (CAD, USD, GBP, EUR, AUD).
- Bill reminders: Settings → Notifications (optional; permission stays on-device).
- Widgets: Long-press Home Screen → Add Widget → Penny (Safe to Spend / upcoming reminder).
- Bills: On Home → Upcoming or Plan → Bills, see what’s due next with the date and amount. Tap a row to edit.
- Quick tour: After first setup, a skippable spotlight tour highlights Safe to Spend, upcoming bills, and how to add a bill on Plan. Replay anytime from Settings → About.
- Penny Pro: Settings → Unlock Penny Pro for a one-time lifetime unlock. Restore purchases from the same screen if you reinstall. Pro includes unlimited goals, extra accounts with goal funding (TFSA / FHSA / more), 6/12-month forecasts, CSV + PDF export, and extra accent themes (not iCloud sync; no subscription).
- CSV / PDF export: Settings → Data (Penny Pro).
- Reset / delete data: Settings → Data. Export first if you want a copy. Deleting the app also clears local data permanently.
Important
Penny is a planning tool, not financial, tax, or investment advice. Safe to Spend, forecasts, and debt payoff figures are estimates from numbers you enter — not bank balances or guarantees. Figures marked with an asterisk (*) in the app are estimates; details are in the Terms of Use.
Penny Pro purchases & refunds
- Lifetime unlock: one-time Non-Consumable purchase via Apple. No subscription required for current Pro features.
- Restore: Settings → Penny Pro → Restore purchases (same Apple Account).
- Refunds: handled by Apple, not the developer. Request at reportaproblem.apple.com, or in Media & Purchases → Purchase History → Report a Problem. Apple decides eligibility under Apple’s policies.
- Purchase didn’t unlock: Restore purchases first, confirm the same Apple Account, then email the App Store support address if it still fails.
